Twins! A Very Special Milestone Session! | Homer Glen Studio Session

There is something about baby milestone photos and sitter sessions I just can’t resist! And when I have the opportunity to photograph a set of twin boys in matching neutral outfits my heart skips a beat.

Mom contacted me about a Homer Glen studio session to celebrate these babies big accomplishments! These sweet 8 month old boys spent some time in the NICU when they were born and then went straight into COVID social distancing so she mentioned this was the first professional session they’ve had! Grandma accompanied mom and the babies to help out at the session and I’m so happy she did! She had a way of calming these sweet boys and was able to squeeze out some smiles.

How social distancing ‘looks’ during as photo session

This was one of my first sessions back in the studio and I am taking every precaution for photo shoots. You can take a peek at some of the guidelines I’m implementing here.

I am typically VERY hands on during sessions and it has definitely thrown me a bit of a learning curve not being able to cuddle and carry these sweet babies! For the last 12 years photographing babies, there hasn’t been a week go by that I haven’t snuggled a newborn or baby! So this hands off approach is definitely hard for me!

Sessions look pretty similar to before BUT you’ll find me wearing a mask and aside from newborns, I am not handling babies 3-12 months old that much. I prefer to have minimal contact with these sweet babes and instruct parents and caregivers during sessions. Every parent so far has done an AMAZING job and follows directions great!

Cleaning Procedures and Studio Safety Guidelines!

Below are a few of the safety guidelines I’m implementing in the studio to ensure for a safe session! The health and safety of my clients are a TOP priority at Elle Baker Photography. I would like to reassure you that I will take all precautions to maintain a sterile environment at my studio.

• Temperatures will be taken in my home before leaving to ensure I am 100% for our session. I ask that all clients coming to the studio to also take their temperature to ensure a safe working environment. I will have disposable masks and gloves available at the studio and will be wearing a mask while working with babies 12 months and younger.
• I will be sure to wash my hands before, during, and after our session. Hand sanitizer dispensers will be located in multiple places at my studio including the front door, bathroom, desk, and sitting area. I ask that all clients wash their hands right before they leave their house and once again upon arrival at the studio.
• The studio space will be deep cleaned after each session including every surface. All props including blankets, wraps, toys and clothing will be washed and throughly cleaned in between sessions. Until further notice, NO outside props will be allowed in the studio.
• When the stay at home is lifted and I am able to return to scheduling, I will only be scheduling ONE session every other day to ensure 48 hours between clients. This will allow time for sanitizing and cleaning the space.
• There will be a ‘no shoe policy‘ going forward in the studio. Although most of my clients remove their shoes anyways I will be requiring that upon entry, all shoes are to be removed by the doorway.
