Below, you will find one of my favorite families that have been apart of a my baby’s first year plan. We have documented her newborn and special milestones and I absolutely loved watching her grow. A Letter to Ivy’s mom

Dear ‘T’-

I have been wanting to write you this letter since I met you when your gorgeous girl was just days old.

Baby ‘I’ always placed so perfectly on your hip, like she was made specifically for your build.

Your husband always patiently along for the ride, sometimes you can even see in between takes how lucky he knows he is.

The first time my lens aligned with your girl’s glacier eyes my heart swelled. I would say it’s hard to believe that that tiny days old baby is the same ecstatic bouncing toddler in the middle of this field, but there are somethings that don’t ever change because they simply can’t. They are inherent.

Like I’s glacier blue eyes. Or how when she smiles she has to as wide as her cheeks will allow. How her soft auburn hair somehow matches your gentle and unique aura. And how it’s all magnified by the oranges and pinks the sun made for us that day.

Looking back on all of the sessions we had this year, I am reminded of how important this job is. How wonderful it is to be present for the progression of so many miracles. To have a front row and undisturbed seat to the one thing in this entire world we all completely agree on.

Beautiful baby blue eyes, strawberry hair, buckled leather baby shoes and soft brand-new skin are some of things whose goodness cannot be questioned. They cannot be dulled.

Even when the world goes darker than we’ve ever seen. Baby ‘I’, and her gorgeous team are here to remind us how magnificent this world is when it is left alone.

I know your bright-eyed girl won’t recall all of the panic or heartache this world has seen these last few months, but not because she is tiny. I knew after five minutes of meeting you and your husband that the only emotion your dazzling girl is consistently exposed to, is joy.

You let her light guide the way of her 12 month old session and it was the only proof I needed to know that there are brighter days ahead.

Baby’s First Year Plan

This sweet baby has been apart of my baby’s first year plan that I offer at my Homer Glen, IL studio. With this yearly collective, parents receive a full newborn session, two mini baby sessions, and one bonus mini family session. The newborn session documents baby, parents, and siblings and you receive a full length documentary newborn session. Two baby sessions are scheduled when baby is six months old and twelve months old. During these mini sessions, we use the same blankets and wraps which allows for continuity when creating an album or wall gallery. And finally, the bonus family session is a perfect way to end the year together. We celebrate this collective and document how much your family has grown over the last year.
