The creative in me is always drawn to images that tell a story and show movement.  I just love natural and candid family photography and strive to capture real and authentic photos in every session.

These three sisters were so sweet and loved walking on the rocks holding hands.  I had a great time photographing the B family and can’t wait to show them their entire gallery!

September sessions

The temperatures were just perfect the last weekend of September and this location was unbelievably beautiful.  This is a hidden location not far from my sister’s house and she asked me to photograph her family there.  The kids had a great time hopping from rock to rock and playing in the waterfall.  I enjoyed this lifestyle session so much and I can’t wait to blog the entire session.

The best time to shoot your family session

My favorite time of year to photograph family sessions is definitely late summer, early fall.  I receive emails often, asking when the best month is to shoot in and in my experience, the last two weeks of September is always the best.  September is a gorgeous month and the weather is typically very nice.  It’s not too hot or too cold which allows us to take our time during the session and capture all of those beautiful details.  The last two weeks of September always book the fastest and I always make sure to schedule my own family session at that time.  The leaves are beginning to change just a little, but they are still fill the landscape with beautiful green and yellow color.  It really is a gorgeous time to book.

How to book for fall 2018

I currently have my January through April 2018 scheduling block open and will be opening May through August 2018 very soon!  I always announce through a blog post here OR on my social media outlets, including Instagram and Facebook.   If you are travelling from out of state and would like to secure your session early, feel free to contact me soon and we can reserve your session!
