Simple Baby Sessions

There is nothing better than documenting a little baby in their diaper, crawling, laughing, and moving about. Taking away props, bright clothing, and clearing the space of distraction allows us to completely focus on a baby’s movement and personalities. I learn a lot about each baby that walks through the doors and enjoy the beauty of simple baby sessions.

Starting out in the photography industry I knew I wanted to focus on simple baby sessions and offer this style of photography to my clients. It is always very important to me to capture beautiful and honest photos of every baby that comes to my studio. Upon arrival, I ask that mom or dad change baby into a simple white diaper. While they are deciding on final outfit choices from my studio wardrobe, I photograph baby crawling around and watch them get acquainted with the space. This is the time you can sit back and just watch the magic unfold. Baby is most relaxed, crawling, giggling, testing out new teethers and just being themselves. There is very little pressure at this point of the session and I think that is why it’s my most favorite part of any simple baby session.

The cherished LOVIE

This little baby LOVED his blue lovie blanket. He would carry it in his mouth as he crawled around and had a hard time letting it go for half of the session. My mind was flooded with beautiful memories of my own children and I just knew I needed to document this baby with his blankie.

One of my favorite memories when my kids were babies was watching them discover their most prized procession. They each had a special lovie and we couldn’t leave home without it. As they grew older, their tattered, stained, and much loved lovie became a collection piece. They now sit in a memory box along with their other favorite pieces that all bring back the most amazing memories.

Lovie sessions are oh so special and one day, you will want to remember that simple memory in the future. I think this mama will be so thankful she has a collection of these types of images. This adorable muslin security blanket is from Aden and Anais.

Baby Plan

I offer an all inclusive baby plan to all of my maternity and newborn clients. This plan is a PERFECT way to document all of the incredible milestones in baby’s first year. We will start off with a lovely full newborn session. This session includes parents and siblings and is a great way to start off the year. Next we have two half sessions, one at six months and again at 12 months old of the baby. During these sessions I capture special milestones and offer a beautiful curated gallery of your baby. Along with these three sessions you will also be given a mini family session that can be used at any time during baby’s first year. This allows you to receive a collection of updated family photos which ends the first year beautifully.
