Chicago Family Portraits

When I first met Autumn I knew we would become friends.  She is the sweetest mama and has the most beautiful twin babies!  Her bubbly personality and love for her littles just makes her glow.  I had the privilege of photographing this gorgeous Oak Forest mama and her darling daughter a couple of weeks ago.  They are both wearing Ele Story‘s newest dress collection!  These dresses are timeless and are made of the most beautiful fabric.  You can see more of these dresses in the ivory color here.  If you are in need of Chicago family portraits, I am currently booking Spring and summer sessions.  I would love to hear from you! Location Scouting

Clients and fellow photographers ask me all the time how I find these pretty outdoor locations and I have to be honest, it’s quite simple.  I choose locations that are easy for my clients to navigate and find on the day of the session.  My clients only walk a few feet from the parking lot to the exact shooting spot.  This helps with parents handling car seats, little children, and photo session supplies.   I look for fields with long grasses and tall trees far in the background.

How to prepare for your outdoor session

Chicago family portraits are always beautiful during the late summer and fall seasons.  The fields are beautiful and the weather is lovely here in the midwest during that time of year.  I always bring a neutral knit blankets for families to sit on as well as a small crate for littles to stand on.  I send every family a session planning guide that offers details and suggestions for the day of the session.  The most important thing to remember and what I always tell families when they arrive, is to just enjoy the time they spend with each other during their session.  I hear so often that parents have a hard time relaxing until the session is almost over because they are so nervous their kids will not behave.  I stress to ALL of my families, that if you truly enjoy the time at the session and with each other, you will walk away with not only beautiful and emotive images, but ALSO a beautiful memory and experience.
