Get ready to saw aww!  This sweet girl had the most beautiful smile and shared it throughout her session today.   I introduced baby J a few days ago in a sneak peek from her lifestyle session!  You can view more from her home session  from earlier this week.  Meet Baby J part II.

How to prepare for your newborn session

Preparing to get out of the house can be difficult with a new baby and so I always send an email the day before our newborn session with a few reminders.

• For nursing moms, avoid gassy foods and caffeine the day before and morning of our session.
• Try to feed the baby right before you leave the house.  A baby with a full belly is (usually) a happy baby!
• Dress the baby in a zip up sleeper that can be easily removed at the start of the session.
• Bring a pacifier and extra bottle to help sooth in between posing on the bean bag.
• If you have a sentimental item like a lovie, keepsake, or wedding rings we can incorporate those into the session.

The studio

Laurie’s studio is fully equipped with everything you need for your newborn session.  The space is cozy and comfortable and is filled with blankets, wraps, bonnets, baskets, and headbands for the sessions.  Her commercial photography studio is located in Homer Glen, Illinois, not far from Frankfort, Naperville, and Chicago.  Laurie has photographed hundreds of babies over the last nine years and brings her expertise to every session.
